Retirement plans plus HSA

Yes, you can have both an HSA and an IRA!

Although HSAs operate under many of the same rules that apply to traditional IRAs, an HSA is not an IRA; it is a tax-advantaged savings account for current and future medical expenses. However, it may be used to pay for non-medical expenses without penalty after the account holder turns 65, so it can be used to save for retirement, too.
